Soap box

I am sorry to do this because this blog is for happy things like Austin eating potatoes, but I have to get this out...

Yet again we see that sex offenders are NOT re-habitable!!! You can not "cure" what makes a person hurt someone so severely like that. It's not like they stole a car that can be replaced. They ruin lives in a way that no one can ever forget. You can't council the the demon out of a rapist or molester. It doesn't go away for them or for their victims no matter how long they "behaved" in prison. Now because some idiot determined that this guy won't do it again some girl's life will never be the same. It just makes me sick. How can you make that call and sleep at night?! Now they think he may have murdered 4 other girls! How many lives will be destroyed while we try to "help" these monsters? How about not wasting your time on them and focus more on the children they prey on! Send them on to Hell before they make Hell on earth for anyone else. You can mark my word...if I ever come across one of these monster's they will feel my wrath. I have a no-tolerance policy for those who hurt our children.

Walking EVERYWHERE!

He has the walking thing down pat now. He is so funny. He will walk around the house speaking his own language. Last night he must have been telling jokes because he was laughing so hard he was making pig snorts! He was probably making fun of me and I had no idea. In these pictures we let Libby out and he walked over to the door to see her. I has to go everywhere she goes! You can kind of see her through the glass. They are so funny together. Here is his signature wink...

Goof ball!

He thinks that since Libby chews on her toys that he needs to also. His top teeth have officially cut so I am sure he is teething too. He's doing really well with solid foods and doesn't show signs of a picky eater. He does have my sweet tooth, but seems to also have my love of veggies. He is walking more and more everyday. Next...climbing. I don't think I am ready for that yet! This picture is for Carrie...

Austin's new trick...

Best Friends

Libby Lou and Austin have become each others shadows. It works out great because Libby still follows me into every room...and not far behind Austin is in tow. When I have to go to the bathroom they have a bit of a melt down but get over it rather quickly. I really have to worry when they both get quiet though. The other day they were in the living room playing and all of the sudden...silence! I ran in there to find Libby had one of Austin's toys in her mouth and Austin had Libby's bone in his mouth! I grabbed the bone from Austin. He just looked at me and then went over to Libby and like he was saying "deals off" he took his toy from her. Austin has learned mostly by default that the bones are for Libby. Last night he picked up he bone and offered it to her. Since she wasn't interested he decided "well, if she doesn't want it then I can have it"...wrong again son. Little stinker.

Big help from my little helper

Alana gave me a bag full of Jack's clothes for Austin, and I thought I'd go through it and separate them by size. Austin was playing with his toys and seemed content...Then he decided to "help" me.

Loves food

We have started eating dinner all together now that Austin is eating "real" food. What you can't see is Libby parked right under his highchair;) If I turn around for a second Austin is sharing his food with her. He's definitely not like Joey from friends...he will share food;)

First hair cut

Okay, so we had to get rid of the mullet! It was bittersweet. I knew he needed it but now he looks like a boy, and not my little punkin' with curls. He looks very handsome. Lori and Nana (formally known as Gag-Gaw) saved his locks for me and took pictures. From what I hear he was a handful and wouldn't cooperate much. He's not a big fan of sitting still. I commend them for being able to cut his hair with all of his energy and not cut off an ear.

Future ball player

Let me just say that Austin has an arm on him! I think we may have to limit ball playing to the outdoors before he takes out the TV or the lamps. I think soccer and basketball may be his games of choice. He is pretty good at getting the ball in the toy box or laundry baskets, and he gets really excited when he kicks the ball. We shall see. Either way he is entertaining to watch, and the kid is non-stop. This weekend he did a flip over his truck and is now sporting a pretty good goose egg. I about had a stroke but he seems to be unshaken. I don't know how I will survive 18+ years of this! Pray for me;)

No!

Discipline is not as easy as it sounds. Austin is not allowed to play with the DVD and VCR. So, it's his favorite toy. Like forbidden fruit. I go over there and say "No" and he sits there and thinks about it...then tries it again. So the dance begins;) So much fun! Mom, I am sorry for being such a brat.

Photo Shoot

Keith's family had a photo shoot done for Austin. Hear are a few of my favorites. He is the cutest baby in the world! Lori said he was his usually squirmy self. So, it was entertaining for all to get him to cooperate;) She said at one point he threw the wooden number 1 across the room! Glad no one was hurt!

He walked!!!

Sunday night Keith and I were sitting on the floor with him and he just crawled over to the chair pulled himself up and just took off walking! I was just a little excited and I think it scared him some;) I couldn't get him to do it again but I think he was pretty tired. I wish I could have gotten it on film, but we really weren't expecting it.
Watch out!
Coming Through! Does this thing have reverse?
